Megan O’Meara And Jeffrey Niblack Have Been Walker Members Since 2012

Jeff Niblack and Megan O’Meara

Do you have a favorite Walker memory?

Jeff: I remember seeing a Bill T. Jones performance in 2005. I hadn’t had any exposure to contemporary dance and that really opened me up to the art form.

Megan: There are so many, but I’d pick After Hours: Adiós Utopia. The exhibition was fun, accessible, and impactful. The music at the party was great and the crowd was so cool—a beautiful mix of ages and ethnicities, all in their best party clothes.

What do you like about the contemporaries?

Jeff: The Contemporaries has been so great for us. It’s allowed us to learn more at the Walker, socialize with others who are interested in the arts, and explore the Twin Cities arts scene.

Megan: I love that it’s a customized arts education experience coupled with socializing and free food! One of my favorite events was touring a local collector’s home. I’ll never forget this piece they had—it was a Chipotle burrito which they were required, as owners of the work, to replace with a new burrito every few days.

How have the arts impacted your life?

Megan: I’ve worked as an actor and run an arts education organization. While my professional life has changed, art is part of who I am. It’s been really important to find meaningful artistic experiences, and the Walker helps me do that.
