For more than 20 years, RBC Wealth Management has demonstrated its commitment to the arts through grants in support of emerging artists and sponsorships that make the arts more accessible. The firm has also built a contemporary art collection of more than 400 works, with selections regularly on display at RBC’s headquarters in Minneapolis. The RBC collection centers on the human figure—from traditional portraits to more experimental means that evoke ideas common to the human condition.
These commitments make RBC Wealth Management the ideal partner for the Walker-organized exhibition David Hockney: People, Places & Things, showcasing the experimental career of one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century. On view through August 21, the exhibition spans six decades of the artist’s impressive career, drawing from the Walker’s substantial holding of his work, including paintings, prints, drawings, and set design. Together, the personal and often exuberant pieces, featuring intimate portraits of Hockney’s friends and family members, still lifes, landscapes, and domestic scenes, show an artist consistently engaged with experimentation and self-reflection.
“RBC is thrilled to sponsor the Walker’s premiere presentation of David Hockney: People, Places & Things, celebrate the pioneering achievements of this prolific artist, and continue our long-standing partnership with the Walker,” shared Vikesh Nemani, Walker trustee and Head of Strategy at RBC Wealth Management. “This inspiring program, featuring one of the most inventive artists of our time, reinforces and reflects our shared belief in the vital role the arts play in enriching our lives and communities.” RBC Wealth Management has provided trusted advice and solutions to individuals, families, institutions, and charitable foundations for more than a century. RBC prioritizes strong partnerships with their clients and communities and believes that the arts are an essential part of a vital, well-rounded community. The Walker is deeply grateful for its deep partnershipwith RBC and our shared commitment to a culturally vibrant Twin Cities.
