On December 7, more than 70 members of Contemporaries, the Walker’s young professional affinity group, got to avoid long lines and fighting for seats at the sold-out screenings for the British Arrows and instead rode the elevator to the Garden Terrace Room for a relaxing reception with plenty of tables and chairs for a leisurely private viewing.

Prior to the screening, Contemporaries enjoyed delicious British concoctions by Modern Events by D’Amico.

Before the showing began, guests enjoyed sipping on British beers, beverages, and tasting a range of traditional dishes.
Well-known (and quite delicious) fish and chips, as well as almond chicken curry, leek pie, and grilled vegetables were all served.

During the film clips, the group was subject to a variety of advertisements and reacted with a range of laughter, from startled to uncomfortable and confused to crying. Some funny favorites included:

Other ads featured cats with opposeable thumbs, buff men dancing and singing as farmers, and a man confusing Hell’s Kitchen for a sauna.
The Contemporaries cast their ballots and the clear winner for best catchphrase went to an old lady in an Aldi commercial: “I don’t like tea, I like gin.”
The official winner was The Long Wait for John Lewis, a very cute story of a kid waiting for Christmas.
Contemporaries were able to mingling with old and new friends before and after the screening.
