Suzanne Weil in Conversation with Philip Bither

Suzanne Weil served as coordinator for Performing Arts at the Walker Art Center from 1968 to 1970, and as the first director of the Performing Arts Department from 1970 to 1973. Suzanne talks with Senior Curator of Performing Arts Philip Bither about her history at the Walker from the Center Arts Council in the 1960s to the Performing Arts Department in the 1970s. This interview focuses primarily on dance in the 1960s and 1970s and the influence of the Judson Dance Theater on the White Oak Dance Project’s performances of PASTForward, presented at the Walker on September 26, 2001.
