For 33 years, the Walker has been the Minnesota home of the British Arrows Awards, celebrating the very best the creative world of UK advertising has to offer. One of the museum’s most popular traditions, drawing established members and first-time visitors alike, the program normally attracts more than 30,000 visitors to screenings in the Walker Cinema and McGuire Theater. The 2020 British Arrows will be very different, but the Walker is excited to share the presentation entirely online thanks to the sponsorship of Thomson Reuters.

A global news and information company with deep roots in the Twin Cities, Thomson Reuters has been a committed sponsor of the Walker’s British Arrows Awards screenings since 2008. Recognizing the unique nature of the current situation, Thomson Reuters did not hesitate to continue its support for this innovative program. Sharon Sayles Belton, vice president of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, spearheads this collaboration. “Like Thomson Reuters, the Walker is dedicated to global excellence and is itself a world-class arts center with a powerful international reputation,”

The winners of the British Arrows are usually announced at a lavish ceremony in London each March. After the awards, the Walker’s Moving Image department curates and produces a showreel and opens the monthlong program with a special event hosted in person by the London British Arrows team. Although the 2020 awards ceremony was canceled, the Walker is delighted to be able to present a historical retrospective of the best of the best, along with select winners from a special category created this year that highlights videos produced during the lockdowns.

The support Thomson Reuters provides for this program has enriched the Twin Cities community, and we are continually grateful for their advocacy. The British Arrows Greatest Hits will be available starting November 19.
