Harry Wild Jones designed the Memorial Chapel at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis with a mural designed by New York artist and architect Charles Lamb, and is an excellent example of a revived Byzantine style. Jones based his design on the much larger basilica cum mosque Hagia Sophia of ancient Constantinople. The chapel interior boasts one of the finest examples of Byzantine style mosaic art, comprised of an estimated ten million tiles. Part of the idyllic campus of Lakewood Cemetery, the Chapel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
