Designed by Minneapolis-based SnowKreilich Architects and commissioned by the U.S. General Services Administration under the Design Excellence Program, this modern crossing station along the Minnesota-Canada border features a more welcoming, warm, wood-lined canopy and transparent, glass-lined walls, allowing views into some of the 40,000 square-foot complex. The entry balances the needs of post-September 11 security measures, creating a strong but welcoming presence into America, in a more sustainable building envelope.
