Celebrated post-minimalist composer Michael Gordon, best known as one of the three founders of New York’s Bang on A Can All-Stars and festival, visits The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis at 8 pm Saturday, April 3, to debut his newest series of compositions called Light is Calling (Nonesuch). The performance features several of Gordon’s new works presented with alluring new films that visual/media artist Bill Morrison created specifically for this music. Part of the Walker Art Center’s Walker without Walls programming, this world premiere concert is copresented with The Woman’s Club. It is sponsored by Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) and supported in part by the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts and School of Music and the University of Minnesota School of Music.
