Walker Art Center Announces $10 Million Gift from William W. and Nadine M. McGuire

Gift One of Largest in the Nation to Support Contemporary Performing Arts

The Walker Art Center announced today it is receiving a $10 million gift from William
W. and Nadine M. McGuire in support of the Walker’s internationally recognized performing arts program. The gift is one of the largest ever committed to the commissioning, development, and presentation of new works in the performing arts, and represents a commitment to nurturing groundbreaking dance, music, theater, and performance art. The $10 million gift encompasses three areas that together create a new model for contemporary arts programming: construction of the Walker’s new 385-seat theater; creation of the Walker’s first named curatorial position; and a $2 million fund to commission new work and nurture new creative talents.
