Walker Art Center and Dakota Jazz Club and Restaurant Present an Evening with Philip Glass Featuring Etudes and Other Works for Solo Piano in Conjunction with Lucinda Childs' Dance Performances

“The most powerful composer of our time…what Glass is doing is changing the face of music for our time and all time.” – The Daily Telegraph

Debuting a program that features his most recent Etudes for piano as well as classics in Glass’ repertoire, the Walker Art Center and Dakota Jazz Club and Restaurant present a concert by Philip Glass on Wednesday, April 6, at 8:30pm at the Dakota.

Presented in conjunction with Lucinda Childs’ Dance performance at the Walker Thursday-Saturday, April 7-9, the concert provides a glimpse into the intricacies of the composer’s work in its most elemental form. Speaking from the piano bench, Glass personally introduces the program. An intimate and unique look at a visionary at work, this evening provides a fond reacquaintance for Glass fans and a perfect introduction for new audiences. Simultaneously stirring and meditative, this is a rare opportunity to hear the influential composer’s work firsthand.
