The Walker Art Center’s Target Free Thursday Nights in October feature Creative Entrepreneurship: A Conversation with Kickstarter cofounder Yancey Strickler (Thursday, October 25, 7 pm); a tasting with Chef-in-Residence Charlie Schwandt (Thursday, October 4, 5-9 pm); the opening of the exhibition Dance Works III: Merce Cunningham/Rei Kawakubo (Thursday, October 4, 6:30 pm); and Social/Brief: A Night of Festive Brevity to kickoff the Twin Cities Book Festival (Thursday, October 11, 6-8 pm). Additional highlights include a free performance by Kettly Noël and Nelisiwe Xaba, featured performers in the Voices of Strength contemporary African dance showcase (Thursday, October 11, 6:30 pm), A Renegade’s Vision: An Evening of Stan Brakhage Films (Thursday, October 18, 7:30 pm), and Teen Art Lounge, a monthly night for young artists to hang out, make art, meet other artists, and learn new techniques and processes with other teens (Thursday, October 18, 5-8 pm).
