ArtPrize Pitch Night
Walker Cinema, 7 pm
It’s sort of like American Idol auditions for artists: five finalists take the stage to share proposals for a temporary public art installation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. That’s the site of the annual ArtPrize competition, which draws some 400,000 people who view thousands of artworks and vote to bestow upon one of them a $200,000 grand prize.
In Minnesota, the Pitch Night audience helps a panel award $5,000 to an artist to help take his or her proposal to ArtPrize 2014. Presented by the Walker and mnartists.org, in partnership with ArtPrize.
