Local DJ Jake Rudh will present a new twist on his weekly Minneapolis-based post-punk, new wave and indie dance show “Transmission”. Come show off your moves, dance under music videos on the big screen and even join in a workshop as kids and families take over the Walker Cinema for an all-day dance party.
With more than 20 years of experience in the Twin Cities music scene, Jake’s reputation as a versatile DJ has become his calling card. He’s known around town as a host on Minnesota Public Radio’s 89.3 The Current and founder of locally lauded Transmission dance nights. When he’s not spinning tunes, you can find Jake supporting local music, traveling or enjoying a quiet night at his Minneapolis home with wife Mercedes, daughter Liv and dog Harry.
Jake has won numerous awards, including: “Best DJ, Readers’ Choice” (City Pages, 2003-2012); “Artist of the Year” (Star Tribune, 2012); “Best FM Radio Personality” (City Pages, 2012); and “Best DJ” (Minnesota Monthly Magazine, 2012).
