COSTUMES: White denim overalls with Montgomery Ward Powr House label. White cotton men's dress shirt with Starlite brand label. White cotton socks with heels and toes cut out. Cotton and lace long sleeveless nightgown. 2 cream cotton and lace camisoles. Black corduroy cape with pink sateen lining. Bear/bison floor-length fur coat. Pair of black leather oxford shoes. 6 black ribbed undershirts with hoops in bottom seams. Red/green/cream hand-knitted wool sweater with 4 arms and no neck. 2 cotton tanks with tattoo designs hand-drawn by Rauschenberg. 4 dresses made of white parachute material. FIRST PERFORMANCE: Eleventh American Dance Festival, Connecticut College, New London, August 14, 1958. FIRST NEW YORK PERFORMANCE: Phoenix Theater, February 16, 1960 FIRST CAST: Merce Cunningham, Carolyn Brown, Viola Farber, Cynthia Stone, Marilyn Wood, Remy Charlip MUSIC: John Cage; Concert for Piano and Orchestra.
