This 156-page book contains 81 Granolithographs reproduced from Beuys' drawings for the two sketchbooks, the "Madrid Codices", by Leonardo da Vinci, rediscovered in 1965. Examples 1–100 of the book are accompanied by a portfolio of 12 Granolithographs, 6 of which are not in the book. The Granolithograph sheets are in mounts and each is signed and numbered. Label on book spine reads: Joseph Beuys/Zeichnungen/zu "Codices/Madrid" von/Leonardo/da Vinci.
