Gary Zhexi Zhang is an artist and writer based in Somerville, Massachusetts. His work engages with the legacies of ecology, social theory, and information systems. Recent projects include the Loop Discover Prize, Barcelona; The Decentralized Web Summit, Internet Archive; Cross-feed, Glasgow International 2018, and vdrome.org. In 2019 he will be a residency artist at the Delfina Foundation, London. As a writer, Zhang is a staff contributor to Frieze. Recent publications include essays in Steve Bishop: Deliquescing (Sternberg, 2019) and Resisting Reduction: Designing Our Complex Future with Machines (MIT Press, 2019).
