Melinda Ward was Film Coordinator at Walker Art Center between 1972 and 1979 and served on the Film in the Cities board during that time. She then headed up Walker's multidisciplinary Learning Museum Program from 1979 to 1983 after which she created the PBS series Alive From Off Center in collaboration with Twin Cities Public Television which featured the work of video and performance artists. From 1987 to 1992, she was Director of Cultural and Children's Programming for PBS in Washington DC. She recently retired after 26 years as Chief Content Officer for PRI where she created and acquired public radio programming and podcasts including "The World," "This American Life," "The Takeaway" and "Studio 360."
