Wendy Perron is a former dancer/choreographer, and remains a writer, teacher, and curator. She was the editor-in-chief of Dance Magazine from 2004–13, and is the author of Through the Eyes of a Dancer: Selected Writings. In 2017 she co-curated Radical Bodies: Anna Halprin, Simone Forti and Yvonne Rainer in California and New York, 1955–1972. Perron danced with Trisha Brown in the 1970s, is a former associate director of Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and has choreographed more than 40 works for her own company in her 30-year career. Perron currently teaches at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and The Juilliard School, and is the editor-at-large for Dance Magazine. She is also the author of a new publication on Grand Union, forthcoming through Wesleyan University Press in the fall of 2020.
